Restek Olympics 2024
How does this work? What do I play?
Each team of employees will determine how to use their roster of participants. Each member should participate in an event unless their schedule restricts them from doing so. Because the team rosters have less people than the events require, some team members may participate in multiple events.
Monday-Wednesday there will only be one scheduled sport/event per day. The time slots are 11:30am and 1:00pm. Therefore, your total commitment will only be 30 minutes per week or less (unless you participate in two events). The other activities will be flexible scheduling throughout the week (see below).
An example would be this for Team 1:
Monday is Pickleball - Rachel and Joey play for Team 1
Tuesday is "I should have known that" trivia game show- Ross, Monica, and Phoebe play for Team 1
Wednesday is Volleyball - Chandler, Mike, Kramer, Elaine play for Team 1
Golf chipping is flexible scheduling - Jerry and George play for Team 1
Basketball is flexible scheduling - Monica and Jerry play for Team 1
Cornhole is flexible scheduling - Kramer and George play for team 1
You can see that all 11 players are spread out in the events, and all participate in at least one event. The team will determine their best lineup for each event!

What is it?
This is a series of events that will take place over July & August, beginning Monday, July 15. We want to provide Restek employee-owners an opportunity to break free from work responsibilities and have some fun competing against fellow employee-owners.
____________________________________________________________________________
Who can participate?
All US Restek Employees!
-If you participate remotely you will have to participate in the trivia game show, basketball, or cornhole for your team.
-You must coordinate with your supervisor in advance to ensure appropriate department coverage and time requirements. Event times will be 11:30am and 1:00pm. If the number of teams and bracket dictate an extra match/game in one of the weeks, the additional game time will be 1:30pm.

When is it?
Events will begin on Monday, July 15 and last for 5-6 weeks in total. Scheduling and duration of the Olympics will depend on the number of teams registered. Monday - Wednesday there will be one set event taking place. This year golf chipping, basketball, and cornhole will be flexible scheduling and can take place any time they won't interfere with a regularly scheduled event (see schedule below).

What are the events?
There will be 6 events. Some are physical, some are not, but all are fun.
They include: 5v5 volleyball, basketball shooting (new format), modified corn hole, trivia game show (NEW), golf chipping (NEW) and 2 v2 pickleball. Rules document attached below!
Mondays will be Pickleball matches (we will play in Founder's Point)
Tuesdays will be "I should have known that" trivia game show (we will play in Founder's Point)
Wednesdays will be Volleyball matches (we will play outside on the sand court unless the weather forces us inside or the temperature is too extreme)
Basketball spot shooting, Cornhole 20-minute running clock, and golf chipping (25 chips onto the Millhouse lawn for points) will be flexible. These events will be flexible to allow for hybrids/off-shift employees or remote employees to participate. If possible, we would still like there to be a referee or neutral party there to help score. Teams could reach out to schedule a time with the Wellness staff OR have a neutral party there as a witness if completing during a different shift/remotely. The two competing teams would not have to compete at the same time, but rather would only need to make sure their scores are submitted during that competition week to see who advances.
*** For the Championship Day and closing ceremonies- the scores would need to be submitted before midday on Championship Day if you are not able to come compete in person for the championship should you make it and work a different shift/are remote!

What do we win?
Well, other than pride and Restek bragging rights, you could be awarded a gold medal for your excellence and stand atop the podium during closing ceremonies to accept the team champion trophy.
- Special note: The championship match is the championship match and determines the champion. The winner will win the gold! So, if your team wins every game until the championship and then loses the championship to a team that came all the way back through the loser’s bracket, they will not have to beat you twice.
